I would like to start off by saying that this is not a book that was written. It was a story that was told and done so in eloquent fashion.

Like Cinema, you will see the same stories retold over and over. With The Protectorate, K.D. took the refreshing approach, by crafting an original, entertaining, and thought-provoking story. This story seamlessly fits itself into multiple genres; however, you will definitely be THRILLED.

The Author did a great job of character development and scene transition. So often through this story, I found myself deeply immersed in the settings and feeling like I was actually there.

You will love the protagonist Anna, as you will grow with her throughout the book. You will be able to identify with her struggles and questions.

This story would make an easy and highly entertaining move to the large screen.

I enthusiastically recommend this wonderful read. I'm looking forward to the next.

From the beginning, Upton creates characters that one can identify with as they become involved in a mysterious organization. Anna soon finds out that what she thought was normal in her life was not as it seems.

The author lends scenes of intense action with revealing moments of introspection to develop a heroine that is easy to root for. The supporting characters introduce a wide variety of personalities that many will be able to relate to.

Through a variety of settings and incorporation of historical elements, K.D. is able to draw one further into a well-developed plot.

The time you spend following Anna's journey is well worth the investment.
