So it begins…
Barn of Shadows is the newest addition to the list of mystery whodunits. This time it’s with Detective Cosmo Pritchard, and he’s a man of many hidden talents. But enough about him for the moment.
What I’m excited about is that it’s finally edited, book covered, and copyrighted. Now, it’s time to share it with the world!
But wait!
I can’t. Not yet, anyway. I’m only sharing this wonderful novella with those that have subscribed to my newsletter. There’s a method to this madness, and some may vehemently disagree, but alas, it’s true. Only those subscribed to the newsletter receive Barn of Shadows for free.
Yep, I said free, and I may be crazy. I may be a glutton for punishment, but that’s not the reason. Let me explain…
A few months ago, I asked newsletter subscribers if they wanted to help create a short story. I got wonderful feedback and many jumped in feet first, offering up great character names, locations/settings, and weapons of demise. Shortly thereafter, I got to work, and the short story turned into a novella, and after a long wait on editing (she’s great, and I will have no one but her), I got it back. After a book cover and some formatting, it’s finally ready for devouring, but since it’s created with the help of my wonderful subscribers, then it’s only fitting that they get to read it…. for free.
So, with that said, I’m thrilled to have it in the hands of readers, who have already jumped on the opportunity and downloaded it. I like to do these things from time to time because why not? Of course, I can’t give everything away for free, but this is my way of saying “THANKS” to all those who have followed me and stuck with me all these years.
Anyway, it’s finally done, and I can’t wait to hear feedback. Plus, if this gets a positive reception, then I’ll continue doing short story/novellas far into the future.
